Just found a great blog entry about memory usage in linux. I have often wondered about how memory is reported using the free, ps and top commands. This explains it all :-)

I am an Icelander living on the west fjords of Iceland.
At the moment I am teaching at the University Center of the West Fjords and also trying to finish my final thesis for a master degree in physics, its about laser cooling of atoms.
